“So you Think you can Dance Pow-wow – We had 72 Dancers, some returning and other new participated in our program to  develop  their  skills  and  cultural  understanding  of  Pow-Wow.  Our  wrap  up  event  saw  our  many  dancers  and  their families supporting them and was featured on CBC. Additionally, this year we were invited to bring youth dancers to the First Nations University Spring Pow-Wow to host an initiation special that saw 28 of our dancers from this and previous years programs initiated into the Pow-Wow circle. New Location – For years, the biggest concern from community members and stakeholders was the inaccessible location of  the  centre,  through  the  year  we  worked  diligently  to  find  a  more  appropriate  location.  Choosing  a  new  location  it needed to meet two important criteria: firstly, was the building needed to be wheelchair accessible and secondly, that it was centrally located in Regina with good walking and bus access. In March this year we were happy to announce that we were successful in that respect. Our press announcement received very positive coverage and was attended by our local MLA, the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District, and the Heritage Community Association. http://leaderpost.com/new/local-news/newo-yotina-friendship-centre-celebrates-a-new-beginning." – Michael Parker, Executive Director
